Computer maintenance is easy
Who would not like their computer to last longer and run cooler? Most people neglect one important step which is of computer maintenance. If you do it regularly to your computer it will not only last longer but also run smoothly.
Computer maintenance is nothing else but a matter of cleaning the computer. The fans which pull the hot air from the computer case also pull the air from outside in the machine. The air from outside is full of tiny dust particles which go in and stick to electronics like a blanket to heat producers that are the CPU, heatsink video card etc.
People do not believe what I’m trying to say until they themselves open their own computer after using it for a year or more. You will first see a white rim around the fan blades. This white rim is nothing else but dirt which is drawn up through heatsink which forms a coat on the fan thus reducing it’s ability to dispel heat.
Another thin layer of dust will be seen sticking to the motherboard. Here, the heat will not be a problem but the dust particles will bridge two components causing an electrical short which could result in anything say an unexplainable hiccup that could happen just one time and pass by or it could cause an absolute ruin of the motherboard.

There goes a saying ‘Prevention is better than cure’. You need to keep your computer place free of dust as far as possible. Just running the swiffer will not help. You must prevent the dust from happening around the computer. The biggest no-no of all is smoking near the computer and if you really need to please go outside.
Another thing you can do is that you can bring a can of compressed air and blow the dust out of the computer carefully. Firstly put the computer off, disconnect all the cables then remove the side panel from the case. Discharge all static electricity around by touching metal of case or putting on an anti wrist band then take the can of compressed air and use it to clean the dust particles off your computer.
