How to reformat windows xp

When you are still in windows, insert your Windows XP CD into CDROM drive. Let the Windows XP disk remain in your drive, and restart your computer from your windows disk, wait for the few seconds after restarting your machine, certain options will be displayed on your computer screen such as: To boot from CD press any key on your keyboard. Just press any key and Installation of Fresh Windows XP will begin.

If you don’t receive this message that means your Cd drive is not installed as the first boot-up option.

For that you have to simply enter BIOS (done by continuous pressing of ‘Escape’ or ‘Delete’ keys displayed on monitor when your system makes a start up sound) by restarting your system. When you enter into the BIOS first thing to do is to look-out for start-up sequence or booting option. See that Cd-drive is selected first. Restart your computer and check that everything should be ok.

Click on Install Windows, and fresh installation on computer system begins. An option will be displayed asking to create a new partition. You can start by selecting the partion you already have and to delete press ‘D’. To confirm press ‘Enter’ and to confirm deletion press ‘L’. Through this process everything gets erased from your hard drive.

You need to create partition for continuing the process. For that press ‘C’. without considering the size of partition, carry on installation by pressing ‘Enter’. Next step is followed by selecting partition which has been created by pressing ‘Enter’, then select the options available (by using the NTFS files system / quick, format the partition). Installation of windows begins and Screen looks more familiar. Installation takes few minutes (which depends on the speed of your computer system) so in a mean time you should be ready with your product activation key. This particular key is usually found on either Windows XP Manual or at the back of your PC Case.

Windows Installation gets finished by selecting typical network settings when prompt. Most of your computers hardware get detected but to ensure smooth installation you might need some of your computer hardware driver installation disk.
