Troubleshooting Computer Problems

My computer has virus and spyware

This is for all those who use the internet, well you need to arm your computer against attacks from hackers by installing reputed anti-virus program.

Keep virus definitions update. Be aware of sites you visit and be alert if you see suspicious behaviour. Check the site before you enter password and that the site security matches it’s certificate for eg. https://www(.)your bank(.)com, the s after http stands for secure, in the bottom right hand of your screen look for padlock indicating security of site.

Unfortunately this is not enough unsuspecting people fall prey to spyware or hackers who send packages in disguise in form of free toolbars or system enhancers hidden in executable files as jokes or movies which infiltrate your computer.

Guarding your PC against attacks by using anti-spyware is as important as to guarding your password or loading virus program. Privacy and identity should be safeguarded first, the bank side may be safe but there could be a hidden program behind recording all keystrokes made by you.

Just like an antivirus searches for new virus a software should search and clear spyware. New spyware programs not only update definitions but tell you what they have found and whats it’s doing.
