how to protect my pc from computer virus
It is amazing to know that many people operate their computer with little or no antivirus check though it is a big threat for the same. Today we have PC’s infected with malware, spyware etc. kind of viruses not known to user’s. Please install and run an anti virus check before you complain of your machine being slow, sluggish and behaving oddly.
There is a free anti virus checker called AVG which protects all my machines since 1997 with an automated update facility in giveaway version. The updater searches and installs new versions very single day which only shows that how big the menace is. It is all basically codes or programs for stealing or to spy on or destroy data. It’s up to you to decide how you protect yourself.
There are many such free programs the choice being your’s.
Simply visiting a free online check is not enough if your PC is infected cause this may hold you from browsing, it can wash out the hard drive or prevent your machine from booting. You need to first download then run the check to safe information, hardware and software.
A standard check is recommended weekly. I have some free protection running on my PC as below:
Spybot-search and destroy: Detects and removes different kinds of spyware.
Spyware blaster : Its just another adware and spyware line of defence.
Ad-ware SE personal : It provides an advanced protection from malware, dialers, Trojans, aggressive advertising, data-mining etc.
AVG free edition : personal anti virus check system.
Zone alarm firewall : it blocks all unauthorized access to your machine.
If you are concerned of your privacy may sure to run this little lot of not so labor intensive task regularly and it should give you home users a good defense system.

Adware and spybot need a weekly run and update whereas spyware blaster needs just an update. Firewall runs in the back so you don’t have much to do there and virus checker scans and finds virus which enter secure zones.
In brief give your PC an anti virus check, download firewall lined up with the other programs.
This is a basic guideline for protecting your PC if you need higher suggestions you can go online to check for other options.
